The Epiphany Men’s Group was created midway through 2005 to help build a unique fellowship with other members of Epiphany. Our goal was to foster friendships and act as a catalyst for various projects that would contribute to the overall spirit of Epiphany.
The Men’s Group is open to everyone (provided they are male). It includes single, married, long-time members, first time visitors, old, young, gay, straight, etc. It’s as diverse as the greater Epiphany community.
In its first partial year of existence, the Men’s Group adopted the third Sunday of each month as its meeting time. Breakfast is served in the basement of the church at 9 AM. Following breakfast, time is often spent learning and/or experiencing presentations from members of our church. This has taken many forms. Past topics have ranged from aeronautical physics to gothic architecture, from bass guitar to construction (and church maintenance). The presentations have been an opportunity to meet each other and understand the unique qualities of our church members. 2006 will be the first complete year of existence for the Epiphany Men’s Group. It should provide opportunities to continue the spirit of the group through Sunday meetings and for the men of Epiphany to build friendships while contributing to the greater congregation.
