Epiphany serves a nutritious three course meal each Wednesday evening to patrons of the Common Pantry and other members of our community. In 2009, we served over 3,100 guests (a 13% increase from 2008). The meal averaged 60 guests per evening.
Preparations for the meal begin around 4:30 p.m. Beverages are offered prior to dinner, which is promptly served at 6:15 p.m. Most guests leave and clean-up is completed between 7-7:30 p.m. Each evening there are several children under the age of 12 so we have recently started a children’s activity table between 5 and 6 p.m.
Epiphany has been blessed to have volunteers give their time and resources in support of the Welcome Meal. If you have time on a Wednesday to help, please know that you are welcome!
Wednesday Afternoon Fellowship
Epiphany's Fellowship Hall is open each Wednesday afternoon to patrons of the Common Pantry and other neighbors in need. The current hours for the afternoon fellowship and support services are 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
During the afternoon, coffee is served with donated snacks and sometimes lunch. Games and puzzles are available for kids, magazines for adults and occasionally donated clothing is offered. The services that are offered include: resume writing, job searches, apartment searches, homework help, and information on state ids, birth certificates and social security. We have helped with tax rebates, utility rebates, free cell phones, budget help, finding family members, and just listening. Epiphany's Wednesday afternoon fellowship is an extremely positive experience and a wonderful way to build and support our community.
